Rajasthan Atomic Power Project

THE Rajasthan atomic power station complex, estimated to cost Rs 125 crores will boost the energy re-sources of the region by nearly 400 MW(e). The power station will be com-posed of two heavy-water moderated and cooled natural uranium reactors, each helping to generate nearly 200 MW(e). While work on the first unit is substantially under way, work on the second one has recently been taken up. The first unit is expected to be commissioned during 1970 and the second sometime in 1972.
