It would appear that what the ultras were unable to accomplish in Kerala, possibly due to A K Gopalan's volte face, they were able to achieve in Andhra despite the physical presence of Sundarayya and Basavapunnaiah at the plenum. Notwithstanding this inner turmoil, the CPI (M) leadership in Andhra has made a most happy departure from its previous position of regarding the CPI as its main enemy.
