WEST BENGAL- The Uneasy Pause
WEST BENGAL The Uneasy Pause AFTER nine days of turmoil between November 22 and 30, West Bengal has entered a phase of all-round stalemate. The unexpected and adverse ruling of the Speaker of the Assembly has taken P C Ghosh and his patron in Raj Bhavan by surprise. The United Front is in no better position. Apart from its discomfiture at the possible demonstration of its minority position in the Assembly, the United Front is faced with the spent momentum of the initial urban protest against its dismissal without any other signs of stirrings in the countryside.
