December 9, 1967 With the partial restoration of power cut in the Vidarbha region, cotton ginning and cottonseed crushing factories have become more active. Improved supply has led to a substantial decline in the prices of un- decorticated cottonseed cake. Export activity in decorticated cottonseed extractions has come to a virtual halt because of the uncertainty about the export incentive scheme. Manufacturers of decorticated extractions are trying hard to persuade the Government not only to extend the present incentive scheme for extractions but also to revive the scheme for expellers. Considering the influence that they wield with the Government, it is unlikely that their efforts will not be adequately rewarded.
