Agriculture as Business THE DEEP and consistent interest which business is now displaying in agriculture indicates that, in certain spheres, agriculture holds out the attractions of a business proposition. Independent observers confirm that at least in some areas, big farmers (local as well as those who have immigrated from money- lending or urban areas) are taking to agriculture as an industry, not just as a trade or suffering it as a legacy. What has brought about this transformation which, among other things, inspired FICCI to organise a seminar for promoting links between agriculture and industry?
