The Indian Chemical Manufacturers Association recently approached the Government with an offer to help in the mining of pyrites, but the Government holds that exploitation of natural resources is a State monopoly and that no private parties can be entrusted with the job. The negotiations have not been closed, however, and further discussions are scheduled to be held soon. Meanwhile, the Association's experts are known to be drawing up a scheme for extracting sulphur from garbage, sewage and other waste matters.
