The Politics of Corruption

AFTER the General Election Orissa was not, of course, the only State to have a non-Congress Government, but it was the only State where the Swatantra party became the major partner in a non-Congress coalition, with the Jana Congress, consisting of ex-Congressmen, as its partner. From this point of view the experiment in this State will be watched with interest, for this is the Swatantra Party's opportunity to demonstrate that its political and economic policies provide an answer to the problems before the the country.
