Jessops Face Adversity
Jessops Face Adversity JESSOP and Company has had a difficult year in 1965-66, with sales recording a slump of Rs 1.80 crores at Rs 16.05 crores against the previous year's Rs 17.85 crores. The comprehensive rationalisation of production facilities and methods, which had been undertaken earlier, made it possible, however, to absorb part of this shock. Consequently profit after depreciation and tax was Rs 94.68 lakhs (Rs 96.70 lakhs in 1964-65 under favourable conditions). Since prospects of immediate improvement are bleak, it was decided to conserve internal resources and the dividend level was therefore maintained at the previous year's level of 12.5 per cent.
