Indian Muslims and Electoral Politics

Imtiaz Ahmed Krishna observes that Indian Muslims arc taking an increasing part in the political process in the country. This is true no doubt, but it is difficult to agree with Gopal Krishna's view that this trend necessarily implies that Muslims are becoming increasingly secularised politically or that communal solidarity is being subjected to pressure by electoral competition.
