In Vidarbha and the Konkan, processing of mineral ores offers good prospects. Marathwada is a blank slate, of which little is known; few have even heard of its district towns; one needs to know more about its resources and potentialities before getting down to solve its problems. Agro-industries might find a good base after some time in Vidarbha but there is hardly a satisfactory environment for them in Marathwada and the Konkan, for which other solutions have to be found.
