Social Forestry: A Farmer's Viewpoint V J Patel THE article 'Social Forestry in Karnataka: An impact Analysis' by D M Chandra- shekhar and others (EPW, June 13) is an interesting study of farm forestry in two districts of Karnataka, namely, Bangalore and Kolar. However, it does not discuss the impact of farm forestry in these two districts on the remaining districts of Karnataka. The title 'Social Forestry in Karnataka: An Impact Analysis' is, therefore, a misnomer The same trend may not continue in the remaining districts. I will be happy if the authors undertake a similar survey covering the other districts of Karnataka and publish the results for our benefit.
