India-China Relations: Struggle between Two Lines THE second conference of the India- China Friendship Association, Andhra Pradesh, held at Vijayawada recently brought to the surface the struggle between two lines and the attempts of the 'majority' group to reduce the association to a pocket organisation. The 'majority' group 'was subjected to merciless criticism on both policy and organisational planes. A section of the delegates, though in a minority, could, by their principled arguments, make the majority jittery. Fearing that the minority would drive a wedge into their handpicked ranks, the 'majority ported to undemocratic methods. They shortened the time for discus- sion on policy and created pandemonium through their hired goondas whenever a shaker from the minority group sought to explain the group's poipt of view.
