THE Israeli expertise in greening their desert is incredible, and there are valuable lessons in it especially for Rajasthan. With the establishment of the diplomatic relations between the two countries, experts from Israel have been evincing keen interest in Indian agriculture. A number of officials and political leaders have exchanged visits, and a memorandum of understanding on agriculture has been signed between the two -countries. A high-level delegation from Israel recently visited Rajasthan and held discussions on transferring the Israeli technology to transform, as one official emphasised ''agriculture in the Indian desert'' and not' 'desert agriculture''.
