Nehal Ashraf Dowry system was not known to Muslim society, as it does not find any place in Islamic 'Shariah', But in course of time, Muslims have changed their character and are not at par with their Hindu counterparts in demanding and offering dowry both in heavy cash and kind. The increasing incidence of dowry deaths among Muslims is only a reflection of its growth in the society as a whole.
