in Technological Change N S Shetty This study of sample farmers in two Mysore villages shows that institutional agencies are more important at the awareness and acquaintance stage of adoption among innovators and early adopters. These farmers, who constitute only a small proportion of total farmers, are favoured by a number of socioeconomic factors.

Time lags are common in the collection and compilation of crop-production statistics. It takes about two years to revise the 'final' estimates, framed soon after the harvest, on the basis of complete returns of production.
