sident of the FICCI. This is a progressive step long advocated by shipping companies as it replaces individual groups of shippers of particular commodities which existed hitherto. The continuance of such individual groups in particular cases may still continue. It is hoped that the Shippers Council will take a broad view of the position of shipping companies and of Shippers of different commodities who are likely to concentrate all attention on their individual cases without due consideration of the overall position, or fully realising the problems of shipping companies which are an integral part of the industrial and economic structure of the Country.
