November 23, 1968 Plying LPG in 15 cities and it has an ambitious expansion programme for the future. The Corporation added 526 new retail outlets during the year; at the end of 1967-68 it had 1737 such outlets. The Corporation has also made arrangements and developed facilities for 'bunkering' Indian and international shifts at all major ports in India, SOCIAL OBJECTIVES The handling of larger volume of business has been possible only with commensurate storage and distribution facilities. Thus keeping in view the perspective planning for future marketing effort, the Corporation has been developing additional storage facilities. During the year under report, additional storage facilities for 0.11 million kilolitres were developed at main installations and upcountry depots.

Call Rate Hits Record High The CLOSE of February marked the emergency of tight conditions, not unexpectedly, and the end of the stable six per cent call rate, which had been poised for a rise even before mid-February. What ushered in the tight conditions and triggered off the climb in the inter-bank call rate in Bombay was the final advance quarterly payments of income tax on March 1. By March 4, the call rate had touched a record high of 10 per cent, at which level it has since been sustained.
