Unnecessary Medical Interventions

The sharp rise in medical interventions has caused grave concern among lay users of medicare facilities and has given rise to considerable literature in medical journals. This article examines caesarean sections as a case study in the context of current developments in the health sector, the uneven availability of medicare, people's perceptions of medical interventions, the largely unregulated private sector in medicare and the disturbing trend of unethical medical practices.

It impacts on every other type of malaria as human migration is an important factor in malaria transmission. Through this case study of an outbreak of malaria in a migrant group in Vellore district, the epidemiological, social and human problems of migration malaria are examined.
