Proposals to reform the Bretton Woods Institutions abound with emphasis on good governance and the rule of law. However, the bwis do not honour their own statutes and principles, which have resulted in substantial damage to southern countries while increasing bwi income. Financial accountability for the damage done is enshrined in their statutes and has to be observed.
