Two divergent trends emerged at a recent workshop held in Chennai to discuss the ongoing phenomenon of organ transplantation in Tamil Nadu. While a group of participants stressed the urgent need to strengthen the existing law to prevent the commercial trade in human organs, another group supported legalised free trade for therapeutic purposes.
