They have not only wheedled a sizeable chunk of loans from the co-operative societies but are now of throwing tantrums at the government's efforts to recover the dues. The Janata government, however, does not seem to be in a mood to fein indifference and countenance these tantrums as minor irritants of an erstwhile partner. As a result tension seems to be building up towards a showdown between the government and the farmers.
